SHABBY COOL

SHABBY COOL

It might be a big contrast to what the high fashion houses are doing now, but I still like this style best. Shabby, (semi) low budget and therefore very cool.

MARSELL

MARSELL

When I was in London a couple of weeks ago, I completely feel in love with these shoes. I spotted them in Selfridges and as soon as I saw them I knew: these are perfect for me. BUT... they are 620 pounds, so that's somewhere near 750 euro's. That's insane. Now I am looking for the perfect 'rip off replacement' but so far, no luck. They are by Marsell by the way.

MIX IT UP

MIX IT UP

Overall I like what I wear, but there are a couple of things I still have to learn: be more experimental, be brave, wear colour, wear prints. I would have never thought to wear camouflage print with leopard, but look... it looks great together!

DOUBLE DENIM

DOUBLE DENIM

You'd better get used to wearing denim on denim, if you want to be on top of things. ChloÚ started the trend last season, and Stella McCartney and CÚline continue on with it for spring 2011. I especially like the look when combined with nude colours, like in the top image.

Did you know Monki opened a store in Amsterdam? It's quite a nice shop, just don't expect exclusive items or fantastic quality. I like the minimal Scandinavian look of the clothes (Monki is Swedish). I've got my mind set on the Allison jacket. Great for this terrible Dutch fall weather!

I like this hairstyle very much. The long bob, it's very cool.

WHAT'S UP BALMAIN?

WHAT'S UP BALMAIN?
05.10.2010
When I saw the Balmain summer 2011 show yesterday, I could only think one thing: are you kidding me? The collection Christophe Decarnin designed this season is so similar to his previous collections, it's ridiculous. The t-shirts, the leather jackets, the skinny pants, the studs... And on top of it all, the whole look of it is very very the same as the last fall/winter Isabel Marant collection. It's crazy. And the craziest thing is: Balmain is one of the most expensive fashion brands out there. A simple t-shirt costs as much as 450 dollars. How does that add up?

I was on vacation for a week so I missed a lot of the major shows. Lots of catching up to do!

I am so happy to see that it's not all just cute sixties kitten heeled girls on the summer 2011 catwalks. Check Givenchy out. OMFG. It doesn't get any fiercer than this. And the grey hair...
